Race report from the 2017 Cam Marathon Hasler race: Sunny Sunday saw CUCC members (racing in the colours of various clubs) take on the [Cambridge marathon](http://www.cambridgecanoeclub.org.uk/index.php/racing/cam-marathon-results) race organised by [CCC](http://www.cambridgecanoeclub.org.uk), with a few giving their go at racing in ‘skinny boats’ after only getting in them for the first time a matter of weeks ago. Divisions 7 to 9 are raced over 4 miles with 5 Cambridge University paddlers taking to the water for these races. Both Tamsin and Helen, being very new to the idea of going in a straight(ish) line, took on the division 9 singles start line along with almost 40 boats, and held their own to finish in 12th and 19th positions. Lottie made her return to racing after a few years in the division 8 singles race, finishing in 10th place. In the division 7 singles category Jon made his return to racing in 4th place gaining promotion to division 6. Andy competed in his first ever hasler race, taking the win for the division 7 singles, earning himself a double promotion to division 5. In the longer races, Livvy competed in the 8 mile division 4 doubles race with a podium finish in 3rd place. Sam competed in the 12 mile first division race finishing in 4th place, just missing out on a podium finish in a sprint to the line.
